This is not for sale and is designed to provide homemade mask teaching in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

We do not advise people to stock up on supplies such as surgical face masks and N95 mask as this would make it more dangerous for health care workers who need these necessities.

But the general public still needs to have basic precautions so we recommend making your own masks (DIY face mask)

Tool preparation for DIY face mask:

Raw Material for DIY face mask:

3. Paper pattern
4. Elastic
5. Tape
6. Wire

Usage Limitation

1. The use time is the same as the general disposable surgical masks.
2. Users are recommended to replace the filter once when use it once every four hours. And the mask cover should also be sanitized and cleaned as instructed above.

1. Fold the fabric in half, place the paper pattern on the fabric, pin the paper pattern and cut it along the edge, and then remove the pin. (Remember: the shell fabric is cut according to the soild line; the lining is cut according to the thick dotted line); and mark the marks(notch hole and elastic placement) on the fabric.
2. Put the shell cloth face to face(right side to right side), stitch the centre front with the back stitch, and then open the seam.
3. Fold the top side of the shell cloth into the back 1 cm, put the wire in the right position, and use the return stitch to fix the folding position.
4. Fold the bottom side of the shell cloth into 1 cm, and use the stitches to fix the position of the hem.
5. Fold the bottom of the lining up and down into 1 cm, and use the back stitching step at the top and the stitching step at the bottom to fix the folding position.
6. Put elastics on both sides of the shell cloth. The position of the elastics must be placed on the side, and the position is fixed by about 1 cm with back stitching.
7. Place the top and bottom cloths facing each other,and fix the sides with the back stitches, then turn outwards.
8. Put the tapes in the side position between the two cloths, and sew the two cloths with the back stitch (beware to avoid sewing the cotton tape)
9. In the middle bottom of the mask stitch a small rectangle to stitch on 2 layers with needle steps, about an inch wide for fixing the filter. Sew on both sides of the wire （sew the shell fabric only) to secure the wire and not slide.
10. Clean and disinfect before use.

Why do you need to wear a mask to fight the coronavirus epidemic

1. We all know that COVID-19 / Coronavirus spreads by droplets when the virus carrier coughs or sneezes.

2. A portion of the droplets fall on surfaces (those with size 100-200 microns), the virus keeps active for a while.

3. The rest of the virus carrier droplets (those with less than 100 microns) will suspend in air as aerosol for a while.

8. 【MASK as a barrier to spread from virus carrier】It effectively stops the spreading of aerosol droplets from the virus carrier 1, so it stops 2 and 3.

9. 【MASK as a barrier to prevent you from respiratory infections】A well designed mask with a proper filter filters off the aerosol droplets in 3. It also prevents you fingers to stop touching nose and mouth 5(b,c).

10. 【Goggles or similar eye protection (eye shielding, glasses)】stop infection via eyes (5a). Contact lenses are NOT recommended.

11. 【DIY FACE MASK】is essential, a MASK with a filter (e.g. kitchen towels) stops virus spreading (8), with a NANOfiber filter stops virus spreading (8, 9).
Please reserve those N95 or higher grade masks to physicians.

Do not say MASK is USELESS. Please read and deeply elucidate what the scientist thinks. Make your own DIY face mask now.

If you don’t have special filter paper, use paper towels or kitchen paper instead.

According to laboratory tests, their effectiveness is comparable to that of medical masks.
